Council Services:

Lincolnshire Music Service (LMS)

Lincolnshire Music Service aims to provide music leadership, excellence and access through a diverse range of opportunities for all. This is achieved through high quality teaching and a range of musical projects and programmes for the young people of Lincolnshire.

Music benefits every aspect of development and helps us to make sense of the world. It enhances social skills, intellectual development, self-expression and self- confidence. "As an integral part of culture, past and present, it helps pupils understand themselves and relate to others, forging important links between the home, school and the wider world" QCA.

We are delighted to offer a greater range of activities with an 8% increase in tuition compared to previous years. The service offers:

  • Instrumental Tuition (individual, small group and large group)
  • Whole Class Instrumental Tuition at KS2 (Wider Opportunities)
  • Ensemble Groups (Area and County)
  • Year 3 and 4 Music Curriculum Packages (Wider Opportunities)
  • Curriculum Development Support and Training
  • Producers - Creative Writing Programme (Partnership with SoundLINCS)
  • Live Music Experiences
  • Projects and Programmes (Massed Strings, Lincoln University, Orchestra Live)

The success of this delivery depends on a close partnership with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible service.
