Homelessness and Young People Workshop for Students (Years 11-13)*

Workshop delivered by LEAP focusing on homelessness and young people in Lincoln for years 11-13.


By the end of the session pupils and staff will have an understanding of:

  • Facts about youth homelessness
  • What to do if a young person becomes homeless
  • Rights and responsibilities
  • Type of accommodation services available for youth people

Service Description

The session will be delivered by senior management from LEAP supported housing who have a raft of experience working within youth homelessness within an accommodation based setting and working with the issues experienced by young people who become homeless and the risks that they may become exposed to:

  • Staff are enhanced DBS checked for both adult and child workforce
  • Various handouts to support the session
  • Interactive sessions


LEAP staff are happy to attend schools within a 10 mile radius of Lincoln:

  • Sessions should ideally last for a minimum of 1 hours
  • A minimum of one months’ notice is required and will be dependent upon LEAP’s priorities


LEAP is a local registered charity with good understanding of homelessness issues:

  • Knowledge of the local homelessness issues
  • Knowledge of wider impact of homelessness substance misuse, anti-social and challenging behaviour, sexual exploitation, identity issues, mental ill health, eating disorders, self-harm, autism/Asperger Syndrome, etc
  • Accredited by LCC for over 15 years


The sessions will be Free of charge to schools but it is expected that the school will consider a fund raising event/initiative to help raise essential funds for LEAP.
