Lodging an Appeal

How you lodge an appeal depends on which school you are appealing for. The School Admissions Team manages the appeals for community and controlled schools. Selected academy, foundation, aided and free school appeals are also managed by the School Admissions Team.

If you would like to appeal for a community or controlled school you can download an appeal form from our website.

If you would like to appeal for an academy, foundation, aided or free school, please contact the Education Team on 01522 782030 to find out who manages their appeals.

If the appeals are managed by the School Admissions Team you can download an appeal form from our website. If the school manages their own appeals you will need to contact the school for the necessary appeal paperwork.

If you are unsure what type of school you would like to appeal for, please refer to the ‘A-Z List of Schools’.

Appealing Online

The online appeals system is only available if you applied online for a Reception, Junior or Y7 place for the forthcoming September. Once you have collected your initial offer you will have the option to appeal to a school which has been unable to offer your child a place. Please note appealing online is only available for selected schools.
