Council Services:

Hazardous Waste

Biohazard symbol for hazardous waste

Some hazardous wastes, such as unwanted chemicals from your own home (eg weedkiller), can be taken to most Household Waste Recycling Centres.

However, if you have any hazardous household waste (eg asbestos) which your local tip will not accept, please contact your local district council to arrange for its collection and safe disposal.

Hazardous Commercial Waste

All businesses and commercial organisations are responsible for arranging and paying for the disposal of the waste they generate. They also have a legal Duty of Care. This means they have to make sure their waste is sorted, collected and disposed of correctly. If you require more information about the Duty of Care then contact the Environment Agency

A number of companies offer hazardous waste collection services in the Lincolnshire area.  Information on service providers can be found in commercial telephone directory listings under 'Waste Disposal Services' or the Yellow Pages on-line.

  • Asbestos Service Guidance

Lincolnshire County Council will accept white asbestos waste by appointment only at its Household Waste Recycling Centre at Lincoln. The council offers this service for residents to dispose of small quantities of domestically produced, bonded, white (chrysotile) asbestos.
