Council Services:

Volunteering

Thousands of people in Lincolnshire give their free time to volunteer and help make a difference to others. Volunteering defines the term ‘Big Society’ perfectly. It is people taking positive actions in favour of making our society bigger and better for everyone.

At Lincolnshire County Council we have many different types of volunteering opportunities available. From helping to manage public rights of way to supporting our heritage sites, the range of things people can do to support their local communities is almost endless.

There are some fantastic personal rewards from being a volunteer. People who volunteer can gain a great sense of satisfaction that they have been involved in supporting their community. Some volunteer opportunities allow people to benefit from learning new skills, attending different training and having improved future employability.

Lincolnshire County Council has achieved the Investing in Volunteers quality standard, in recognition of the excellent practice in volunteer management.

We are delighted to have achieved this quality standard that brings benefits to the organisation, to officers responsible for volunteers and to the volunteers themselves.
