Council Services:

Historic Buildings

Lincolnshire County Council's Historic Environment Service is part the Places Team, which provides conservation advice on the county's historic built environment. This includes buildings of special architectural or historic interest, townscapes and villages, as well as historic industrial sites.

Buildings possessing such special interest are not necessarily old, although most will have been built more than one hundred years ago. Such buildings make an important contribution to the historic character of an area, often being built in a distinctive local style and with local materials. They include all the listed buildings in the county. For additional information on listed buildings click on the Historic England link at the bottom of this page.

If you need technical or design advice to help you care for an historic building we can help. As well as providing specialist advice to members of the public considering proposals that might affect an historic building, we also provide planning advice, in conjunction with the District Councils in Lincolnshire, to assist in maintaining and improving the historic character of Lincolnshire's towns and villages.

Information on the Historic Buildings of Lincolnshire is available from the Historic Environment Record.
