Minerals and Waste Local Plan

The examination of the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan: Site Locations document is now closed. Further information is available on the Site Locations Examination page.

The Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan is being produced in two parts as detailed below.

Core Strategy and Development Management Policies

The County Council adopted the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies (CSDMP) document on 1 June 2016. This document forms the first part of the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan and sets out:

  • the key principles to guide the future winning and working of minerals and the form of waste management in the county up to 2031; and
  • the criteria against which planning applications for minerals and waste development will be considered.

The CSDMP replaces the Lincolnshire Minerals Local Plan (1991) and the Lincolnshire Waste Local Plan (2006), with the exception of Policies WLP2, WLP6 and WLP12 of the Lincolnshire Waste Local Plan (2006). These policies are saved until the second part of the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan, the Site Locations document, has been adopted. Full details are available on the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies page (see link below).

Site Locations

The Site Locations document is at an advanced stage of preparation and includes specific proposals and policies for the provision of land for mineral and waste development. Details of the work undertaken on this document can be found on the Site Locations page (see link below).

Following consultation on the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan: Site Locations (Pre-Submission Draft) between 7 November and 19 December 2016, the County Council submitted this document to the Secretary of State on 3 April 2017, for examination. This examination was completed on 19 September 2017 when the appointed Inspector, Elizabeth Hill BSc (Hons) BPhil MRTPI, issued her report. For more information on this stage visit the Site Locations Examination page.
