South East Lincolnshire Local Plan

The South East Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee was formed in September 2011 and comprises elected members of Boston Borough Council, South Holland District Council and Lincolnshire County Council.

The Committee’s Terms of Reference are:

  • The preparation, submission, adoption, monitoring and revision of joint local development documents identified in a joint local development scheme; and
  • The preparation, submission, adoption, monitoring and revision of a joint local development scheme, in respect of those documents.

The most recent Local Development Scheme was approved in February 2014 and proposes a single Local Plan document.

The Authorities will work jointly on an infrastructure delivery plan for the area. Although Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a District responsibility and no decisions have been made on whether to implement the levy, the authorities will work towards joint evidence on CIL and related issues. More details are provided on the joint committee webpages.

The Joint Committee is supported by a Joint Policy Unit drawn from officers of Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council.
