Road safety is an important life skill for all children and young people. We provide a range of flexible, teacher-led resources to support schools in delivering road safety education for learners with different needs and abilities.
These resources can be adapted by teachers to support individual learning requirements and help pupils develop their understanding of hazards, safer choices and how to stay safe when travelling.
Road Noises: What can you hear?
Suitable for: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1
A simple and engaging introduction to road safety, helping learners recognise and understand the different sounds they may hear when near roads.
Walk Safe
Suitable for: Key Stage 1
A classroom-based introduction to pedestrian safety. This resource helps learners develop the foundations of road safety awareness, building the knowledge and skills needed for future pedestrian training.
Risky or Safe
Suitable for: Key Stage 2
An interactive classroom resource that helps learners identify risky behaviours and understand safer choices. Through a range of scenarios and discussions, pupils explore how to stay safer around roads.
Road Traffic Collision Investigation (RTCI)
Suitable for: Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
A teacher-led online resource that introduces learners to the causes of road traffic collisions and encourages discussion around safer decision-making and road user behaviour.
