Council Services:

Quality standards

Lincs Laboratory is committed to delivering a quality service with continual improvement to their customers.

The Laboratory and Site Services sections hold UKAS accreditation for many of the tests they carry out.  Accreditation was first achieved in 1988 and the schedule of accredited tests has steadily increased since that date.  There are now some 60 tests on the schedule, a full list of accredited tests are available to view.

Successful migration from the UKAS Standard ‘General Criteria of Competence for Calibration and Testing Laboratories’ to the British Standard BSEN ISO/IEC 17025, ‘General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories’ was achieved in October 2001.

UKAS carry out thorough audits of both the quality system and the tests themselves on an annual basis to ensure a top quality, reliable service is always offered by Laboratory and Testing Services.

The remainder of the sections at Lincs Laboratory; Traffic Data Collection, Highway Condition Surveys and the Pavement, Geotechnical and Material Consultancies operate a Quality Management System in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems - Requirements.

Annual audits by the British Standards Institution ensures high quality outputs from these sections of Lincs Laboratory.
