A158 at Wragby

A section of the A158 and B1202 at Wragby was rebuilt and given a new surface.

Wragby A158 crossroads

A section of the A158 and B1202 at Wragby was rebuilt and given a new surface in a £350,000 project in 2014. The road had reached the end of its working life and following a spate of icy winters, was in need of repair. It needed to be fully reconstructed and resurfaced.

The works involved:

  • The road was rebuilt and a new surface laid
  • The traffic light signals at the crossroads of the A158 / B1202 were replaced
  • The existing pedestrian crossing was replaced with a more modern system
  • Three new pedestrian crossings were installed
  • The footpath that runs alongside the Marketplace/ A158 was widened

On completion of the works the life of the road was extended for another 20 years. In addition:

  • The new modern pedestrian crossing will provide better facilities for pedestrians, as well as improving the efficiency of the junctions
  • The traffic light system will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, whilst making crossing safer for pedestrians
  • The widening of the footpath running alongside the Marketplace/ A158 will become more accessible for people with prams or reduced mobility
