Council Services:

About Access Lincoln

The Access Lincoln programme is designed to provide residents, commuters and visitors with more travel choices, helping people to save time and money, lead healthier lifestyles and to protect our environment.

The programme is a Lincolnshire County Council initiative, supported and funded by the Department of Transport. It is dedicated to helping change the way people choose to travel into, out of and around the City from using public transport and car sharing to cycling and walking.  Access Lincoln is also supporting a number of key infrastructure projects such as rails station improvements, additional hirebike stations and cycle storage.

Access Lincoln evolved from the Access LN6 project encouraging businesses and communities in Hykeham and Lincoln to travel sustainably following a Department for Transport grant in May 2012. From 1st April 2015 that project has expanded to deliver sustainable travel solutions into the wider Lincoln area under the banner of Access Lincoln. Access Lincoln continues to provide specialist support for businesses who wish to increase the number of people travelling to their organisation by foot, bicycle or public transport, and want to develop transport schemes to help people travel to work.

Getting involved

Whether you are a local business delivering services in Lincoln, or a resident, there are numerous ways you can reap the benefits of Access Lincoln. We want to support local projects, businesses and groups to encourage sustainable transport - so please get in touch!
