Electric Bikes
In August 2017, hirebike added a fleet of electric bikes to its network as a result of Department for Transport funding.
The e-bikes are similar to pedal bikes but are power-assisted by an electric motor requiring less effort than conventional cycling. You still pedal but the motor takes the strain helping you travel faster for longer and tackle hills with ease. There is also a boost feature to help you pull away from junctions and indicators too.

Renting a hirebike
Bikes can be hired 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, from the on-street docking stations.
To rent a hirebike, you must first become a member. There are two types of membership available:
Annual Membership – annual membership is available at £20 for pedal bikes and £40 for electric bikes. Members benefit from cheaper hire rates and free hire period per each bike rental.
Casual Membership - suitable for casual users or visitors, there is no annual membership cost, but slightly higher rates and no free hire period each bike rental.
Students and corporate memberships also available at discounted rates.
