Park and Bike

Park and Bike offers a staging post, providing convenient locations for people to break their journey, park their car and continue by bike, making the most of traffic-free routes.

Easy Off Road Cycle Routes

There are two official Park and Bike schemes available in Lincoln, encouraging commuters to park on the outskirts of Lincoln city centre and cycle to work. Commuters can park their cars for free at Skellingthorpe or Burton Waters before using their own bike, or rent a hirebiketo cycle into the city centre in less than 20 minutes.

The Park and Bike locations are situated at Skellingthorpe Community Centre car park on Lincoln Road and in the visitor car park at Burton Waters marina. See the map for the full cycle routes to Brayford Pool (a high quality version of the map can be downloaded at the bottom of this page) or watch the full routes below.

Please note, those wanting to use the site at Burton Waters must first obtain a parking permit from the Burton Waters on-site security office on their first visit.

There is also a further free parking site that can be found at Washingborough Community Centre. From here riders can join The Water Rail Way (Sustrans Route 1) via a short walk through the village. Parking is free Monday – Friday. However, this site does not include a hirebike station. Riders wishing to Park and Bike at Washingborough should bring their own bikes.

For more information about the scheme contact the Access Lincoln team.
