Council Services:

City of Lincoln Council Transport Hub

Led by City of Lincoln Council, the £30 million Transport Hub scheme will provide a state-of-the-art bus station and 1,000-space multi-storey car park in the city centre, improvements to Lincoln Central railway station and the creation of a pedestrianised plaza in St Mary’s Street, connecting the bus and rail stations.

The project will complement the East West Link Road and Network Rail’s High Street footbridge. Together, these schemes will improve connectivity in the city centre, along with a raft of other ongoing improvements in the area, including the development of the Central Market and Lincolnshire Co-op’s Cornhill Quarter redevelopment.

As part of the project, a temporary bus station is operating in Tentercroft Street to allow the new bus station and car park to be constructed on one self-contained site. The new bus station is due to be ready by December this year, with the new car park completing soon after in early 2018.

Led by City of Lincoln Council, the scheme has received funding from the Department for Transport and Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership. The city council continues to work closely with partners Lincolnshire Co-op, Network Rail, East Midlands Trains and Lincolnshire County Council to deliver the scheme.
