Plan your visit

Find the information you will need to plan your visit to the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight visitor centre.

Security notice

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre and the RAF hangar are located within the boundaries of RAF Coningsby where you will enter a military environment. Therefore all BAGS are PROHIBITED within the RAF BBMF Hangar on public tours. There are no secure storage facilities on site. We thank you for your cooperation.

Opening times

  • The BBMF Visitor Centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm
  • Access to the hangar is by guided tour only and admission charges apply. Hangar tours are available from 10.30am and run throughout the day. The last tour is at 3.30pm from March to October and at 3pm from November to February.

The Visitor Centre is normally closed on Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holidays due to RAF commitments and the flying programme.

Please note: Due to RAF commitments there will be no hangar tours taking place until 1pm on Thursday 15 February or all day on Thursday 29 March 2018. The Visitor Centre will remain open as usual.

Admission charges for hangar tours

  • Adults: £7.90
  • Concessions: £6.40*
  • Family ticket: £20.00 (the family ticket is available for groups consisting of 2 adults and up to 3 children)
  • Children (5 to 18 Years): £4.20
  • Students (proof required): £6.40
  • Under 5s: free

*Concessionary rates apply to the following groups: Aged 0-18 years, aged 60 and above, unemployed, receiving income support, in full-time education and people with impairments/conditions that impact on their day-to-day living as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

Occasionally, due to RAF commitments and stand down, we cannot guarantee public access to the hangar or the presence of specific aircraft. Please visit the RAF website or call us on 01522 782040 to check if a particular aircraft will be present.


You can purchase gifts from the extensive range of giftware available in our shop. This includes framed pictures, prints, books, DVDs, glassware, model aircraft, sweatshirts and more.

Toilet facilities, including disabled toilets and baby changing facilities, are available.

BBMF Visitor Centre Tea Bar

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre Tea Bar is open from Monday 5 March until the end of September 10.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, offering a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Parking and access BBMF

There is free parking opposite the visitor centre. There are limited spaces for coaches and disabled parking.

The visitor centre is fully accessible. The hangar is accessible for manual wheelchairs. Due to health and safety regulations, electric wheelchairs will need to ensure that batteries in the wheelchair are disconnected. A manual wheelchair is available at the visitor centre. Our Access Statement is available to download at the bottom of the page.

We welcome advising assistance dogs only.

The visitor centre is located on the southern edge of Coningsby village, near the A153/A155 junction, around 14 miles north-east of Sleaford on Dogdyke Road, adjacent to Royal Air Force Coningsby. The address is RAF BBMF Visitors Centre, Dogdyke Road, Coningsby, LN4 4SY.

Group bookings

Group Bookings are by prior arrangement only. Group discounts are only applicable for groups of 15 or more (to obtain a group discount payment is required in a lump sum). Contact the customer centre on 01522 782040 or by emailing

Lincolnshire Lancaster Association Members (LLA)

LLA Members (only) on the production of their membership card will be admitted free of charge on hangar tours. Friends, families etc who are attending with them are subject to the normal admission charges.

RAF Memorial Flight Club

BBMF Club Members (only) on the production of their membership card will be admitted free of charge on hangar tours. Friends, families etc who are attending with them are subject to the normal admission charges. For further details of the club please view the Memorial Flight Club website.
