The Lincolnshire Youth Council is made up of young people aged 13 to 18. They share ideas and opinions with councillors and managers at Lincolnshire County Council and its partners.
Examples of issues discussed include:
- climate change
- mental health and bullying
- public transport (for example, bus fares)
- substance use/misuse
There are around eight meetings a year across the county some of which are now virtual discussion on MS Teams with guest speakers.
Face to face meetings will be offered quarterly/termly; these include an activity, for example bowling, lasertag, cinema, arts, archery, ice-skating etc.
There is no cost other than your time, though parents and carers are expected to support with travel. Public transport is reimbursed with a receipt or ticket.
