Council Services:

Lincolnshire Youth Council

Lincolnshire Youth Council (LYC) is a friendly group (young people Y8-Y13) that shares their ideas and opinions with councillors and senior managers at Lincolnshire County Council.

The group meets around 7 times per year across the county and there is often an activity as part of the day.

In June, LYC held a successful schools’ Brexit debate to share young people’s thoughts on this topical issue as well as hearing councillors’ views. There was also an opportunity to discuss local issues with transport being a hot topic. At their July meeting, LYC will be speaking with Cllr Richard Davies, Executive Councillor for Highways and Transport and asking questions about young people’s use of CallConnect services and child/adult fares!

LYC is currently working with Lincolnshire’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) on what makes good emotional well-being and will be producing podcasts for their website.
