Young People's Learning Provision

The Young People’s Learning Provision (YPLP) provides education courses to 16-24 year olds across Lincolnshire.

We offer alternative education programmes for young people aged between 16 and 24 that can be started at anytime of the year. On all of our programmes you will receive:

  • Support to help you progress towards your long term goal
  • Small group or one to one teaching if you need it
  • Job coaching and travel training
  • The opportunity to gain qualifications
  • Support with all areas of life – emotional & behavioural, benefits, housing, health
  • Access to the bursary fund
  • Support with transport
  • Support with your next steps – college, further education, apprenticeship or paid work

All the learning environments are small and safe, with friendly staff, that will support you to gain qualifications and to overcome challenges as they arise.

Study Programmes

Open to 16-19 (24) year olds on a full or part time basis.  It is an individualised programme of study that is likely to include:

  • Vocational qualifications
  • English and maths
  • Work experience
  • Employability skills
  • Personal and social development
  • Other relevant qualifications

Supported Internships

Open to young people aged between 16-24, who have an Education Health and Care Plan, who are looking to find paid employment and need additional support to secure this.   Supported Internships are a structured study programme, based primarily with an employer, that lasts between six and twelve months.

A Supported Internship is an individualised programme that includes:

  • A supported work placement
  • English and maths
  • Employability skills
  • Personal and social development
  • Other relevant qualifications

Traineeships

Open to young people aged between 16-24 who are nearly ready for paid employment but need to gain some experience in order to progress.

A Traineeship lasts for a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 6 months.

A Traineeship is an individualised programme that includes:

  • A work placement
  • English and maths
  • Employability skills
  • Personal and social development
  • Other relevant qualifications

Additional Support

As a YPLP learner you will be able to access, if required:

  • Additional support, as required, including mentoring
  • Job coaching – support in the work placement to learn tasks
  • Travel training – support to travel independently
  • Support with transport
  • Benefit support, for example, “Better Off” calculations
  • Information, advice and guidance about your next steps, including support, with sourcing and applying for Further or Higher Education and or finding and applying for paid work
  • Access to different support agencies
  • Access, if eligible, to the Discretionary and the Vulnerable Bursary
