Make a payment

When getting married in one of our registration offices or venues, paying the balance for your ceremony and pre-ordering your marriage or civil partnership certificate online is quick and easy.

You must pay the ceremony fee in full at least three months before your ceremony to secure your booking. Your ceremony may be cancelled unless we receive payment in time.

You must already have a booking with us to make a payment and will need the following information to submit your payment:

  • Your payment reference number
  • Your ceremony reference number
  • Date and time of the ceremony as shown on your booking confirmation
  • The email address used when you made your booking

We will notify you when you can access this service. If you have yet to receive a notification to make a payment online, this service will not be available for you to use at this time.

Note we cannot accept payments in instalments. The balance is payable in full three months before your ceremony.

What happens next

Once payment is processed, you will receive an email confirmation. We will contact you if we require any further information.

Any pre-ordered certificate will be posted within seven working days of the ceremony taking place.
