Before you claim
After an inquest, we pay certain expenses to:
- jurors for their service
- witnesses who are summoned to give evidence
We only cover costs incurred within England and Wales relating to the inquest.
You can only claim for the time you had to attend the inquest. We will not pay you if you stay at court after being released from the jury or giving evidence.
You must submit your claim within 15 working days from the date of giving evidence.
You must include fully-detailed receipts and certified proof of loss of earnings. We will not accept any claims without them.

Payments
We will pay you via BACS transfer to your nominated bank account.
You should receive your payment within 30 days of approval of your claim.
