Youth offending service

In 2019 the Youth Offending Service integrated into our new Future4Me service in Children Services. Our early help offer focuses upon early intervention and improving long term outcomes.

The purpose of the youth offending service is to:

  • prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime
  • identify and support young people who commit crimes
  • reduce re-offending

Service priorities

  • ensure all children and young people should have access to education and employment opportunities
  • use a range of data analysis to grasp emerging themes to respond to their needs
  • be a champion for children in care and integrate into their care plan
  • challenge inequality and embrace diversity to ensure we provide fair support
  • focus on reducing re-offending and the impact of crime on victims and communities
  • commit to listening and responding to the voices of all children and young people to shape our service offer
