The information requested relates to three periods:

1 April 2024-31 March 2025

1 April 2025- 31 March 26, and

1 April 2026 - 31 July 2026.

1) The information requested is the number of fires in your area at permitted and non permitted waste management sites and waste carrying vehicles , including but not limited to:

a) Permitted sites:

c) Civic amenity sites

d) Landfill sites

e) Waste transfer stations

f) Materials recycling facilities

g) Waste storage sites

h) Energy from waste facilities

i) Composting sites

j) Anaerobic digestion sites

k) Automotive Dismantlers

l) Scrap Metal Dealers

m) Other waste sites not listed

2) Unpermitted Sites:

a) Unpermitted Household waste recycling centres

b) Unpermitted Civic amenity sites

c) Unpermitted Landfill sites

d) Unpermitted Waste transfer stations

e) Unpermitted Materials recycling facilities

f) Unpermitted Waste storage sites

g) Unpermitted Energy from waste facilities

h) Unpermitted Composting sites

i) Unpermitted Anaerobic digestion sites

j) Unpermitted Automotive Dismantlers

k) Unpermitted Scrap Metal Dealers

l) Fly tipped waste

m) Any other relevant waste site

3) Vehicles:

a) Refuse collection vehicles (either local authority or otherwise)

b) Bulk waste carrying vehicles

1. Data for July 2026 is not available at the time of the request, data provided for the period 01/04/2024 – 30/06/2026. Data is not held for specific breakdown of premises types listed in question 1 (permitted sites), data provided for fires recorded with the property type as Industrial Processing-Recycling, Warehouse & bulk storage-Waste, Refuse/rubbish tip, Landfill site.

Please note that those recorded as Industrial processing-Recycling or Warehouse & bulk storage-waste are only those fires that occurred within buildings, any fires that occurred in an outdoor location within the boundaries of a site of this type won’t be included in the data.
