Action Related to the Sale of Illegal Tobacco Products

I would like to request the following information regarding enforcement action related to the sale of illegal tobacco products:



1) For each of the past five financial years, please provide the number of Closure Orders obtained by the Council under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in relation to premises involved in the sale, storage, or distribution of illegal tobacco products.





If no such Closure Orders were obtained during a particular year, please confirm this.

For the avoidance of doubt, by 'illegal tobacco products' I mean tobacco products that are illicit, counterfeit, smuggled, non-UK duty paid, or otherwise non-compliant with UK law.

1) 2021/2022 – 2 closure orders in total – 2 for tobacco

2022/2023 – 12 closure orders in total – 12 for tobacco

2023/2024 – 32 closure orders in total – 30 for tobacco

2024/2025 – 74 closure orders, 1 undertaking in total – 63 for tobacco

2025/2026 – 20 closure orders in total – 20 for tobacco
