Pothole around the junction of West St, Hallam's Lane and Main St, Timberland, adjacent to Timberland Village Hall,

This request concerns the carriageway pothole at/around the junction of West St, Hallam's Lane and Main St, Timberland, adjacent to Timberland Village Hall, approximately at coordinates 53.111999, -0.329086.

 

I refer in particular to:

 

LCC reference 2902345 - pothole reported on 20 August 2026; and LCC reference 2906421 - subsequent report concerning the same location on 24 September 2026. 

1. LCC reference 2902345

Please provide:

a) The original report and all location information associated with reference 2902345.

b) The inspection/assessment carried out following that report, including any notes, measurements, photographs and findings.

c) The defect/intervention category or risk classification assigned to the defect.

d) The work order created following the investigation, including:

work-order/reference number;

date created;

action required;

date issued to the delivery gang/contractor;

original target completion date; and

any subsequent changes, postponements or cancellations and the reasons recorded for them.

e) Any records showing whether temporary or permanent remedial works were carried out, including the date and nature of the work and any completion records or photographs.

f)The complete status/audit history of reference 2902345, including material status changes and their dates. 



2. Highway inspection history

Please provide the relevant highway/site history for the location covering 24 September 2024 to 24 September 2026, including:

a) The date and outcome of the last safety inspection before 24 September 2026.

b) Any previous reports of potholes or carriageway defects at or immediately around this location during that period.

c) Any previous repairs or remedial works to the relevant location during that period.

d) The highway maintenance hierarchy applicable to this section of carriageway and the corresponding inspection frequency/intervention criteria in force on 24 September 2026. 



3. LCC reference 2906421

Please provide:

a) The inspection/assessment and resulting action taken following reference 2906421.

b) Any work order, scheduled repair date, status history or completion record arising from reference 2906421.

c) Any recorded information identifying whether LCC considered reference 2906421 to concern the same physical defect as reference 2902345. 



4. Hallam's Lane roadworks

Public information identifies roadworks under permit GS2035894195202609230000-01, described as major works in the carriageway with a road closure on 29 September 2026.

Please provide:

a) The nature and precise location of those works.

b) Any recorded information identifying whether those works were connected with either LCC reference 2902345 or 2906421.

c) The scheduled date and purpose of the works.

3. LCC reference 2906421 – Please find attached the Street History Report which will provide the details for points a – b.

With regards to point c, we can confirm that LCC deemed the defect report on enquiry 2906421 and enquiry 2906421 to be the same defect and a job was raised for the repair. This is identified on the Street History Report attached (job number 5894195).

4. Hallam's Lane roadworks – The Street History Report attached identifies the works information for the job 5894195 associated with permit number GS2035894195202609230000-01.

a) The location map taken from job 5894195 shows the pinned location of the works.

b) The Street History Reports will detail enquiries 2906421 and 2902345 and I can confirm that both these enquiries were linked to this job (number 5894195).

c) The scheduled date and purpose of the works – Works were raised on 24th August 2026 with the target completion date being 12 November 2026. This is because Hallam’s Lane is a Hierarchy 6 carriageway and therefore as outlined in our Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, the repair time for this Hierarchy of road is 80 days. I can confirm that the works were programmed and completed on 29th September 2026 within the appropriate timeframe for this hierarchy of carriageway.
