Highway Damage - B1191 Approaching the A15 - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1. I would like to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 full details of what Lincolnshire County Council has done to ensure that all was done as practically possible under highways act 1980 section 58.

Decision

1. The reasonable measures which we have taken in relation to Section 58 of the Highways Act 1980 are as follows:This section of the B1191 (B1191/330) is classified as Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) maintenance hierarchy 3 based on its usage. This means that the response times for potential safety defects are prioritised in accordance with that Hierarchy. Full details of our hierarchies and response times can be found within Appendix A of the Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan, available publicly on the LCC website. In this case the response time for a carriageway pothole over 40mm in depth would be 7 days.

We carry out routine safety inspections of the B1191 based on its maintenance hierarchy. In this case, the road is inspected quarterly. Before the enquiry reference number given was logged, it was last inspected on 13 February 2020.

We allow the public to report potential safety defects through our Customer Service Centre and through FixMyStreet. These reports are subject to the same response times as an officer identified defect. The report referred to was received on 2 March 2020. A repair was completed on 5 March 2020 which falls within the 7 day response time this hierarchy is assigned within our Policy.
