Education Committee Co-opted Members - Find a freedom of information request

1. Does Lincolnshire County Council education committee include any co-opted (non-councillor) members?

2. If yes to Question 1, do co-opted members have full privileges of councillor members on the committee, i.e. do they have voting rights?

3. If yes to Question 1, Please provide information on the co-opted members:

a. Is there a process for their being co-opted?

b. Are they co-opted to represent a specific group or organisation?

1. Lincolnshire County Council does not have an Education Committee. Its Scrutiny Committee responsible for education issues is the Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee. The Overview and Scrutiny Management Board also considers education matters. Both these committees include three co-opted (non-councillor) members, two Parent Governor Representatives (PGRs) and one Church Representative (CR).

2. Co-opted members can vote but on education matters only.

a. The two PGRs are elected by the parent governors of Local Authority maintained schools in Lincolnshire. The CR is nominated by the Church of England Diocese
