Wragby/Rand Cycle Lane Project - Find a freedom of information request

Request

This request relates to the Wragby/Rand cycle lane project:

1. Could you please give me a list of criteria that will be applied to the decision of which cycle track will be built?

2. Could you please provide me with information of the order of priority of those criteria? For example, how high up the list would people travelling to work by bicycle compare to a couple on a weekend leisure cycle for fitness and fresh air.

Decision

1. The criteria are as laid out by the Department for Transport in their bid invitation letter. The criteria focus on where temporary and/or permanent cycle-ways can be built by reallocating space from existing carriageway. The criteria also focus on point (road) closures that allow cyclists and pedestrian to flow through but not motor vehicles.

2. Prioritisation has been made by officers and elected members using tools such as the Propensity to Cycle Tool and the Rapid Cycleway Prioritisation Tool. The Department for Transport have indicated that priority should be focused on routes of high public transport usage.
