Maintenance (Redbourne Road, Waddingham) - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act relating to a road your authority is responsible for maintaining.

Specifically, my query relates to Redbourne Road, Waddingham, Lincs.

Please can you send me:

1. A copy of your current road maintenance policy relating to that road. Please send me the full policy, but this should include details of the intended frequency of road safety inspections, how these inspections should be conducted and the maximum time between identification of a defect and repairs being carried out.

2. A copy of the road repair history for that road over the past year. Again, please send me the full road repair history, but this should include:

-dates of all safety inspections between 9 November 2019 - 9 January 2020

- details of how safety inspections were undertaken (walked or driven, speed of inspection vehicle)

- details of all carriageway defects identified, with description, date and time

- details of how the authority handled these defects, what repairs were undertaken and the
time between the identification of each defect and a repair being carried out.

Decision

1. The document required is Lincolnshire's Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Plan (HIAMP), which can be accessed on Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) website.

https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/directory-record/61685/highways-infrastructure-assetmanagement- plan

On this page, links to LCC Highways Asset Management Policy and Strategy which belong to the same suite of documents as the HIAMP and provide context for LCC's approach to asset management. Note for the road in question, the LCC hierarchy is 4, this means safety inspections are undertaken annually. For carriageway defects the suggested response time for a pothole over 40mm in depth is 28 days though this is suggested and the expertise and
experience of the Highways Officer assessing may escalate or de-escalate based on risk. For a pothole less than 40mm the suggestion is to potentially plan works again based on inspection by the Highways Officer and their assessment of risk.

2.

- Dates of all safety inspections between 9 November 2019 - 9 January 2020

No safety inspections were taken between these dates, safety inspections for hierarchy 4 roads are annual as above.

- Details of how safety inspections were undertaken (walked or driven, speed of inspection vehicle)

No safety inspections were taken between these dates, safety inspections for hierarchy 4 roads are annual as above.

- Details of all carriageway defects identified, with description, date and time. Details of how the authority handled these defects, what repairs were undertaken and the time between the identification of each defect and a repair being carried out.

On 06/01/2020 at 11:52 there was a job raised for three potholes after site inspection following customer report, works were completed by our contractor on 10/02/2020.
