1. Please could you tell me how much it cost the council in 2019 to sort recycling out that had been put in the wrong bin.

2. Please could you tell me how much money the council spends on recycling initiatives, broken down by month and for 2019 if possible.

3. Please can you tell me how many different recycling bins there are in your area? Broken down by region if these vary.

4. Can you give me a list of results of the reviews and assessments of local air quality for 2019?

5. How much money was spent in 2019 on greener transport initiatives?

Decision

1. The county council pays a fixed rate gate fee for processing the mixed recyclables collected by the collecting councils (City of Lincoln, the district and borough councils). The cost of sorting out non-recyclables through the process is contained within this gate fee and not shown separately so we cannot provide that information.

2. The county council pays the collecting councils (City of Lincoln, the district and borough councils) recycling payments where they have local recycling schemes (bring banks, special collections e.g. card from businesses). For 2018/19 this totalled £130,645. The county council also supported a separated food waste collection recycling initiative in South Kesteven to 4260 homes at a cost of £157,000 for the year. Unfortunately Lincolnshire County Council is unable to provide a monthly breakdown for this figure.

3. The county council does not undertake collections or provide containers (bins, sacks) for households. The collecting councils (City of Lincoln, the district and borough councils) all have different sets of containers. You will have to contact each one to find out what these are.

e. Community Rail:

In the financial year 2019, Lincolnshire County Council spent £67,156.40 on the Poacher line Community Rail Partnership though this was offset by income of £93,901.66 so Lincolnshire County Council had a surplus to carry forward of £26,745.26.

f. Technical Services Group donated £30k towards continuing the Lincoln Park and Ride scheme from Waitrose for a further year as it is not yet self-funding. I don't know whether they received funding from any other source.
