Number of Residential Buildings with Waking Watches and Cladding Types - Find a freedom of information request

Request

1. Following the Grenfell fire, and a recommendation from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's (formerly the Department for Communities and Local Government) in June 2017 to implement interim mitigating measures to ensure the safety of residents, pending replacement of cladding, how many residential buildings have introduced ‘waking watches’ in your area to ensure they meet fire safety standards?

2. Can you list the buildings?

3. Can you please specify the type of cladding where appropriate?

If the cost/time taken to compile the response breaches FOI rules, can you please answer question 1 only, and then question 2 as well if the rules allow.

Decision

1. When carrying out the review of High Rise we only had one building that had ACM Cladding on. This was Danesgate House, student accommodation building in Lincoln. Following the audit they did employ a "waking watch" until the cladding was removed. This process was completed in early 2018, with all ACM Cladding removed and the "waking watch" also removed when the remediation had been carried out.

2. Danesgate House, Lincoln.

3. ACM Cladding.
