National Referral Mechanism - Illicit Tobacco Supply Chain - Find a freedom of information request

Request

This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. I found that from 2019-2020, West Yorkshire Trading Standards referred 13 victims in the illegal tobacco supply chain to the NRM. (https://awardsv2.hglcontent.co.uk/Content/awards/Documents/1218/MJ_Awards_App_Cheap_Illicit_Tobac co_Team.pdf) In light of this, I would like to be provided with the following information:

1.From June 1st 2020 to Jan 1st 2021, how many NRM referrals did the Trading Standards departments under this county council make about victims involved in the illegal tobacco supply chain? For each of these instances I would like to know:

a.Age of the victim

b.Gender of the victim

c. Any records which further detail the involvement of the victim in the illicit tobacco supply chain (e.g were they selling the tobacco).

d.Their nationality

Decision

No referrals have been made to the National Referral Mechanism within the given time period. Modern Slavery is a consideration in all Trading Standards investigations. We work closely with our partner agencies and consult with them whenever we have concerns about modern slavery.
