Adult Care Financial Assessment - Minimum Income Guarantee Rates - Find a freedom of information request

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 with reference to the Department of Health and Social Care's Local Authority circular LAC (DHSC) (2021)1 (Social Care - Charging for Care and Support). Please confirm the Minimum Income Guarantee rates set by your Council for the financial years 2019-2020 and 2021-2022, with respect to Financial Assessments carried out by the local authority under Section 17 of The Care Act (2014), in these areas:

1. Where the adult being assessed is responsible for, and a member of, the same household as a child - what is the MIG rate in respect of each child?

 

2. Where the adult concerned is a single person and:

a. Is aged 18 or older but less than 25 - what is the MIG rate?

b. Is aged 25 or older but less than pension credit age - what is the MIG rate?

c. Has attained pension credit age - what is the MIG rate?

 

3. Where the adult concerned is a lone parent aged 18 or over - what is the MIG rate?

 

4. Where the adult concerned is a member of a couple and:

a. One or both are aged 18 or over - what is the MIG rate?

b. One or both have attained pension credit age - what is the MIG rate?

 

5. Where the adult concerned is a single person who is in receipt of, or the local authority considers would, if in receipt of income support, be in receipt of'

a. Disability premium - what is the MIG rate for:

i. 18-24 year olds?

ii. 25 or older but less than pension age?

b. Enhanced disability premium - what is the MIG rate for:

i. 18-24 year olds?

ii. 25 or older but less than pension age?

 

6. Where the adult concerned is a member of a couple and one member of that couple is in receipt of, or the local authority considers would, if in receipt of income support, be in receipt of:

a. Disability premium - what is the MIG rate?

b. Enhanced disability premium - what is the MIG rate?

 

7. Where the adult concerned is in receipt of, or the local authority considers would, if in receipt of income support be in receipt of, carer premium - what is the MIG rate if:

a. The adult is 18-24 years of age?

b. The adult is 25 or older but less than pension age? and;

c. Of pension age?

Lincolnshire County Council uses the allowances for Minimum Income Guarantee as per the Local Area Circulars which have been published on Gov.uk.

The amounts have not changed for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.
