Fee Rates to Support Older People in Independent Care Homes - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I am making this Freedom of Information request to ask about fee rates which are being paid by your council to support older people (65+) in independent sector care homes.

These are the questions:

1. What is the average weekly fee (to the nearest £) currently (financial year 2021/22) being paid by your Council to support older (65+) residents of independent sector care homes in a) residential care and b) nursing care?

Note: average weekly nursing care fees should be stated net of NHS FNC payable by CCGs (or the equivalent in devolved administrations) and gross of user charges *

2. How many older (65+) residents are you currently** supporting in independent sector care homes for a) residential care and b) nursing care***? 3. How many older (65+) residents are you currently** supporting in local authority operated residential care homes***?

Notes: * Illustrative example:

Gross fee received by nursing home £988 pw

Less NHS FNC (payable by CCGs or equivalent) - £188 pw (rounded)

Council paid nursing care fee net of NHS FNC and gross of user charges £800 pw

User charges - £200 pw

Net cost to Council £600

**Latest available figure

***Include full cost payers, if any
