Some footpaths beside the South Forty Foot Drain in Boston District appear to have had their signs removed and accesses stopped up.
However all official sources (LCC website, OS maps & National Street Gazetteer) suggests that they are still open.

1.
a. Inspected 27 January 2021. Path not available, is recorded as a cul de sac and is unusable between the railway and South Forty Foot. There is also a large capital scheme bridge required at the great Hale Eau crossing. There is a longer-term potential to divert this path to the northern side of the railway to tie into Little Hale Public Footpath No. 4 however this is not a priority for the available resources at this current time and would require acceptance from the drainage board to use the existing pumping station crossing.
b. Extinguished 2021 – Order attached.
c. Extinguished 2021 – Order attached.
d. Extinguished 2021 – Order attached.
e. Inspected 2 August 2021. There is no room for the path between railway and South Forty Foot Drain. Possible proposal to be extinguished as those above. Path on South side of drain is available, pleasant and easy to use. Priority 4 path.
f. Inspected 13 July 2021. There is no room for the path between railway and South Forty Foot Drain. Possible proposal to be extinguished as those above. Path on South side of drain is available, pleasant and easy to use. Priority 4 path.
g. Inspected 29 July 2021. It is assumed that this is in reference to the spur of that path which is shown on the Definitive Map to cross the South Forty Foot (no bridge, wide drain) as the section of Boston 2 parallel with South Forty Foot is open and in good order. Priority 4 path. There are no plans to provide this expensive capital scheme bridge at present.
2. Please see above – The Legal Event Modification Order for the extinguished paths is attached. Reference to these paths will be removed from the Council’s mapping shortly and the OS have already been informed.
