Pedestrian Zone in Gainsborough - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I would request information regarding the pedestrian zone in Gainsborough consisting of Lord St, Silver St, and the Market Place. Signage in this area is unclear and difficult to understand.

1. What times, if any, apply to the pedestrian zone?

2. Which authority is responsible for raising and lowering the barriers to prevent the passage of vehicles in the pedestrian zone?

3. Which authority is responsible for illegal parking in the pedestrian zone?

4. Which authority is responsible for vehicles failing to conform to a traffic sign in the pedestrian zone?

Decision

1. Prohibition of Driving Except for Access between 4.00pm to 10.00am.

2. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) does not believe there are any barriers, but any removable bollards can be removed by LCC, West Lindsey District Council (WLDC) or emergency services.

3. Lincolnshire County Council.

4. Lincolnshire Police for illegal access and LCC for illegal parking.
