Potholes Identified or Reported Since 2017 - Find a freedom of information request

Request

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information.

1. Please can you tell me how many individual potholes you have identified or had reported to you since January 2017? Please break down the figures in an Excel file that lists results by each half year to date.

2. Please can you also provide me with your annual spend on pothole repairs since January 2017? Please break down the figures in an Excel file that lists results by each half year to date.

Decision

1. There is a difference between what is reported by the member of the public and the figure of potholes Lincolnshire County Council repairs. attached are the figures – it's worth noting that a pothole could be reported more than once by a member of the public too. The attached Excel file shows both the potholes reported as well as the potholes repaired each half year.

2. Lincolnshire County Council does not have a specific pothole fund, so must make some assumptions at to what the figure would be each half year. This generally is an estimate based on an average cost per pothole and annual rates, and this changes each year. The earlier years have been averaged out based on total repairs and have used 2017/18 data to estimate for early 2017. Please note that the 2021 figure is an estimated value as the final figure won’t be available until the end of the financial year. This figure therefore would likely change if asked again in a few months.
