RNLI water safety education resources - Stay Safe Partnership

Outcomes
Teach young people how to be safe near and in the water – and what to do if anything ever goes wrong. Free downloadable learning resources for water safety workshops.

RNLI have put together a suite of teaching ideas and materials to help you engage young people with essential – and lifesaving – water safety lessons in schools and youth groups.
You’ll find videos, guided discussions, problem-solving activities – and more – specifically tailored for primary and secondary school aged children.

Younger children will collect virtual stamps as they learn; for older children they get stamps in a virtual passport and learning through planning their own water safety campaigns. You can also check out a range of resources on maritime heritage.
Service Description

Drowning is preventable, yet over 400 lives are lost to drowning across the UK and Ireland, every year. Water safety education is vital and, in some instances, could be a child’s only opportunity to learn about the water. Within Lincolnshire we are lucky to live near beautiful lakes and coastlines, as the warmer weather approaches so to do the calls to our emergency services in these areas.
