1. Has Lincolnshire County Council Children's Services department arranged for its social care staff to attend domestic abuse training on The Safe & Together Model? (As set out in the BASW England: Domestic Abuse Guidance for social workers April 2021).

2. If the answer to question 1 is yes, please tell us the number of staff in this department, and by their job title, that have attended this training as of 8th August 2022.

3. If the answer to question 1 is no, please tell us if your children's services department has arranged for its social care staff to attend domestic abuse training on Women's Aid Change That Lasts Programme? (As set out in the BASW England: Domestic Abuse Guidance for social workers April 2021).

4. If the answer to questions 1 and 3 is no, please tell us if your children's services department has provided any other specific training to staff to deal with domestic abuse cases?

5. If the answer to question 4 is yes, please tell me the name of this training, how it was delivered, it's duration and whether it was mandatory or optional?

6. If the answer to question 4 is yes, please also tell us the number of staff in this department, and by their job title, that have attended this training as of 8th August 2022?

Decision

1. Lincolnshire County Council Children Service department staff all attend domestic abuse training provided by Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) in partnership with the Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse partnership. The following courses are provided:

• Domestic Abuse Awareness– short course • Understanding Domestic Abuse

• Children Who Experience Domestic Abuse

• DASH – Domestic Abuse, Stalking, Honour Based abuse

• Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and MARAC Operating Protocol (MOP)

• Domestic Abuse; Risk Indicators and Barriers

• Control, Coercive Behaviour and Stalking Whilst The Safe and Together Model is not specifically delivered the ethos of the training is to always consider reducing risk and harm and we have a course specifically exploring ‘children that experience domestic abuse’ and how to support them.

2. The LSCP do not have a list of job roles just departments.

3. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) are part of the LSCP and Domestic Abuse partnership and undertake their Domestic Abuse training that includes all domestic abuse.

4. Yes, via the LSCP as above.

5. All LCC children’s staff follow the LSCP six year pathway and therefore access all the above courses. During covid, there has been a mixture of e-Learning and virtual sessions, all courses build up on previous knowledge. The Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse Partnership and LSCP are in the process of providing face to face training, this will still be part of the six year pathway and be a blended approach of learning. Completion of domestic abuse training is also part of the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) programme which is mandatory for all newly qualified social workers.
