HSBC are offering a range of free interactive workshops to educate and engage children around money management skills. Please detail which workshop you are interested in on the booking form. 
Service Description

1. Understanding money

Household budgeting
7 to 9 years
A session designed to help young people understand regular household expenses such as rent, council tax, utility bills and food. In learning this they can become more aware of the costs of living at home and when they move out for the first time.

The Lost Purse
7 to 9 years
A look at the various ‘plastic cards’ that we use, as well as exploring purchase decisions and how we choose to pay for things to manage our cash flow.

Going Digital
9 to 11 years
As more people are using cashless payment methods in society today, this session looks at how things are paid for, and what happens with each click and every tap.

2. Fraud and identity theft

Guarding Against Fraud
9 to 11 years
A guide on how to recognise fraud and protect yourself, your online identity and your money. Highlights money mules and the consequences of getting involved.

Money Mules: Protecting Your Bank Account from Criminals
9-11 years
An introduction to the world of the Money Mule and how to avoid being targeted as one. This session looks at the methods used to recruit money mules, how to spot the red flags and the risks of becoming a money mule.

3. Good for Money maths

European Tour
7 to 9 years
Linked to Being a Responsible Citizen within the PSHE framework, children explore their international understanding of money, building understanding of exchange ratesand making calculations through a trip across Europe.

Sporting Chance
9 to 11 years
This fun, interactive session explores how easy it can be to get ‘carried away’ spending money through not considering all the added extras involved in a day out. Children will have the opportunity to plan a day out to see their team play and look at what choices we can make to keep in budget.

4. Budgeting and making decisions about money

Making Wise Choices: The Expedition
7 to 9 years
This session challenges children to think about their purchase choices, what are essential needs and what they can live without.

Super Supper Challenge
7 to 9 years
This session focuses on healthy eating and staying within a budget. It encourages young people to consider the choices we make around money, based on needs and wants, in particular exploring if it is possible to eat well on a limited budget.

Smart Gaming
9 to 11 years
In this session we explore the world of gaming, making connections between value for money and budgeting as well as exploring fraud and identity theft. Developed in Partnership with GetSafeOnline.

Savvy Shopping
9 to 11 years
Building an understanding of what is value and how we make financial decisions. An exploration of the buying cycle and offers available on the high street and online.

5. Sustainability and the environment 

Shopping Sense
7 to 9 years
Explore the concept of ‘fairness’ and how to spend money ethically. Builds awareness of how our spending decisions can impact communities.

Woodland Workshops (Outdoor)
7 to 9 years
Learn about our essential needs, good financial habits and the impact we have on the world around us through outdoor discovery activities, a woodland cartoon and woodland worksheets.

Sustainable Choices
9 to 11 years
A look at how our spending choices impact our environment. From everyday living to choosing how and where you spend your money in order to make cost and eco savings

6. Money and work 

World of Work
9 to 11 years
Making the links between work, money and future lifestyle goals. This session explores earnings, deductions and the choices we make around spending and our lifestyle.

All sessions are available free and are delivered by a trained member of the HSBC UK Education Network online over Zoom. Face-to-face is fully booked until December 2024.
