1. Please can you supply a schedule of built-up areas across Lincolnshire (villages, Towns, Cities) showing population, land area, and major employers.

Decision

1. Built Up Area geography and population data The built up area data and town hierarchy is defined by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) at a national level at each Census and is publicly available. This will provide populations and geographic area of the defined built up area according to ONS methodology. Note that 2021 Census definitions are due to be released in 2023 and will reflect any changes.

Employment and business location data ONS also produce data relating to employment by sectors; and companies house is used to identify business locations. Lincolnshire County Council does not own data on businesses by location. District councils will have better information on business premises locations as they have the responsibility to collect business rates. Some publish monthly lists of business rate payers on their website for Freedom of Information purposes.
