1. CYP who receive support from LCC through LCC’s interim home tuition team or who are registered as Electively Home Educated are not classified as NEET as they are in receipt of education.

2. Once LCC are aware that a parent has decided to home educate their child contact is made with the parents to discuss their child’s education. Initial contact is made within one month. The purpose of this contact is to discuss and confirm that suitable education provision is being made. They will also provide support and advice about home education.

After three months, further contact is made with parent to discuss the child’s progress.

Reports are produced detailing if the education is suitable (for the child’s age, aptitude, ability and any special educational needs they may have) or unsuitable.

1316 pupils are currently registered as Electively Home Educated.

Of the above number 77 have an SEND/EHCP.

3. All children registered as EHE have monitoring contacts conducted as outlined in the response to question 2.

If a child has an EHCP and is EHE an annual review is completed by the SEND Caseworker yearly.

CYP in receipt of home tuition have their education monitored through the tuition sessions along with weekly / termly and annual reports.

88 pupils with SEND are currently open to our Interim Home tuition Service.

4. Typically young people on interim home tuition receive 10 hours direct tuition per week with additional learning through, for example, set pieces of work to complete independently. Some CYP may also attend an Alternative Provision dependent on the  age and stage of their education.

112 pupils are currently open to our Interim Home Tuition Service of these 88 have SEND / EHCP.

1316 pupils are classes as Electively Home Educated and of these 77 have SEND / EHCP.
