Investigating roads policy - Find a freedom of information request

1. Can you tell me what your policy is on investigating roads that are faulty? For example, do you have to investigate each reported fault? And if so, under what time frame?

Highway Officers are required to start an investigation into a standard fault report within 10 working days and then to progress it through each of it's next stages within 10 working days. This is unless it is a fault that is classified as requiring a more urgent response as per Category 1 defects specified in the Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan (HIAMP).
