Online safety workshop for year 2 students - Stay Safe Partnership

Outcomes
This workshop will enable students to:
  • understand how the choices they make online might impact them in the real world
  • identify issues online that they may experience which require them to ask for support
  • show an awareness of which adults can support them online
Service Description

All year 2 students will be offered this interactive workshop which will be based around choices and consequences of actions online, and will include questions and activities. Questions from students are actively encouraged.

Sessions will be delivered by experienced trainers from the Stay Safe Partnership in an age appropriate and inclusive way.

Availability

This workshop is available to all year 2 students across Lincolnshire. The sessions are either a morning or afternoon. The session will last 60 minutes with the first 45 minutes being presenter led followed by a creative activity for the final 15 minutes. Please contact to discuss availability.

Benefits

  • better prepared with the skills needed to navigate the internet safely
  • more confident 
  • to make safer choices regarding online safety use
  • understand who and where additional support is available for them to access

Sessions have been created to cover some or all of the following areas within the PHSE curriculum framework:

  • H28. about rules and age restrictions that keep us safe
  • H34. basic rules to keep safe online, including what is meant by personal information and what should be kept private; the importance of telling a trusted adult if they come across something that scares them
  • R11. about how people may feel if they experience hurtful behaviour or bullying
  • R12. that hurtful behaviour (offline and online) including teasing, name-calling,bullying and deliberately excluding others is not acceptable; how to report  bullying; the importance of telling a trusted adult
  • L7. about how the internet and digital devices can be used safely to find things out and to communicate with others
  • L8. about the role of the internet in everyday life
  • L9. that not all information seen online is true
