- What to do
-
Food waste includes all edible and inedible food, such as leftovers, peelings and plate scrapings. This covers:
- fruit and vegetable peelings
- meat and fish (raw or cooked, including bones)
- dairy products like cheese and yoghurt
- bread
- rice
- pasta
- cereals
- tea bags
- coffee grounds
- mouldy or out-of-date food
Place food waste in your kitchen caddy (you can use a liner if you wish) and then transfer it to your outdoor caddy ready for your weekly collection.
Food waste can still be brought to Household Waste Recycling Centres, but the kerbside service is preferred for convenience and proper recycling.
