20 miles per hour speed limits on restricted roads - Find a freedom of information request

Request

One of the criteria in the Council Climate Change Action Scorecard is a Local Authority's commitment to a 20 miles per hour (mph) speed limit on restricted roads. Local Authorities in Wales and in Scotland will soon be implementing 20mph as a national norm.

In order to assess progress towards 20mph in England, 20's Plenty for Us requests answers from Lincolnshire County Council to the following:

1. Do you have plans in place to make 20mph the norm or default speed limit for most restricted roads?

2. Have you requested the UK Government to set 20mph as the default speed limit for restricted roads in England?

3. Are you committed to Vision Zero as part of your traffic/transport strategy?

Decision

1. No.

2. No.

3. Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) adopted its fifth Local Transport Plan in 2022. It can be found on line at: https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/directory-record/61695/local-transport-plan

LCC’s Transport Plan aligns with the national target of net zero by 2050 as well as our own Green Masterplan which has the same target date and can be found here: https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/greenmasterplan
