This workshop will enable students to:
- recognise negative online behaviours in online communications
- understand the legal and social consequences of chat misuse with peers
- compare different tools within apps which enable them to manage their online communications positively

This interactive workshop is age-appropriate and inclusive. It encourages active participation and questions from students while promoting safe and positive online experiences.
Key topics include: the positive and negative aspects of group chats; the implications of misuse; best practices for all online communications with peers, and the tools provided by the apps which will support a positive online experience. It will also include information regarding the Malicious Communications Act 1998 and signposts to support available.
The session will also provide practical examples of online chats and tips for students to explore safety features including how to block and report and manage unwanted group chat invites.
Extras: follow-up resources are provided to reinforce learning and support ongoing development.
