Online safety resource for EYFS to year 2 - The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin - Stay Safe Partnership

Outcomes

‘The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin’ were developed by Childnet to educate 3- to 7-year-olds on how to stay safe on the internet. There are 2 stories (A and B) for each age group (EYFS, Y1 and Y2). We have created a video telling Story B which covers the topics:

  • upsetting images
  • unreliable information
  • communicating with strangers online
Service Description

Our Stay Safe Officer Emma Wighton tells the story of Smartie the Penguin in a YouTube Video (opens in new tab)

Throughout the video there are pause points for children to discuss about what they think smartie the penguin should do next to stay safe online.

PowerPoint presentations for all these stories can be accessed on the Childnet website (opens in new tab), as well as Smartie the Penguin colouring pages.
