Ygam are an award-winning charity working to prevent children and young people from experiencing gaming and gambling harms through awareness raising, education and research. In partnership with GamCare, we deliver the largest education programme of its kind in the UK.

The programme since 2020 has:

  • trained over 35,000 professionals across the UK who work with and support CYP
  • reached over an estimated 5 million children and young people throughout the UK
Service Description

Gaming and gambling awareness and harm prevention workshop.

Available for teachers, youth workers and professionals who work directly with children and young people. This interactive 2.5 hour full training (online) or 3 hour (face to face) training covers the following topics:

  • gaming and gambling harms
  • advertising and legislation
  • mental health and well being
  • the blurred lines between gaming and gambling
  • how to sport the signs of harm
  • where to get help and support

At the end of the session delegates will have access to Ygam’s resource hub consisting of over 1000 complimentary and downloadable resources, that are mapped to PSHE and RSE statutory guidance from KS2-KS5 or 16+ and include thematic schemes of work, lesson plans, resources and one to one activities.

All our staff have enhanced DBS checks, and come from a variety of backgrounds including:

Availability

This training is available for professionals who work with children and young people. We have a dedicated team of experienced training and engagement managers across the UK who are available to deliver training at your organisation or online. 

We can accommodate times and dates that suit the needs and size of an organisation, or we can direct individuals to our open workshops which run frequently throughout the year. INSET days are increasingly popular and by booking with us you benefit from teacher training, parents' sessions, team teach activities and continued support as well as access to Ygam Alumni which offers ongoing training.
