The Department for Transport (DfT) 'Call for Evidence' - Find a freedom of information request

Here at The Confederation of Passenger Transport we are currently preparing our response to the Department for Transport (DfT) 'Call for Evidence' in relation to its Public Service Vehicle Access Regulations (PSVAR) review that runs until 4 September 2023.

So that we can respond comprehensively and objectively to this 'Call for Evidence' we wish to know the following from:

Q1. Please confirm how many Public Service Vehicles with a capacity exceeding 22 passengers the authority contracts for closed-door* home-to-school/college services along with the minimum contracted passenger carrying capacity of these services.

Q2. Please confirm how many of the vehicles in Q1 are contractually required to meet full PSVAR specification.

Q3. Please confirm how many of the vehicles in Q1 regularly transport a wheelchair user to and/or from school / college.

Q4. Please confirm how many of the vehicles in Q3 are coaches.

Q5. Please confirm how many wheelchair users you arrange/provide transport for as part of your home-to-school statutory provision. This would be any type of contracted transport including taxis and minibuses.

*Only available to:

 a person receiving education or training at premises to or from which transport is provided.

 a person supervising or escorting any such person while he/she is using such transport.

 a person involved with the provision of education or training at any such premises.
